A Melbourne Toastmasters Club - Beaumaris, Mentone & Surrounds

Well what a night we had at the Table Topics and Humorous Speech Contest. Much laughter, great food and and two exciting, close fought contests.

Congratulations to all those who participated in a wonderful display of the Toastmasters craft. Your performances did Sandbelt proud.

The humorous speech contest was memorable with original ideas and funny stories that had the audience laughing heartily.

Those who were there will not readily forget Kizzy’s slant on how different we are while still being so much alike; or Gary’s supermarket shopping techniques. George regaled us with options and gadgets as the man from PEST, while Paul made sure that even if you weren’t a seasoned traveler, you had the hints & tips to get you to your destination.

The speech of the night however was from Lee Johnson, who had the whole audience in stitches with her story of directing cement trucks and buses (ask her to demonstrate her directing technique; it could be the foundation of a new night club dance).

I will also have you note that Kathy, Kizzy and Lee have only recently presented their Ice Breakers and took on the challenge of the contest with courage and success.

Special accolades to the top three place getters of which 1st and 2nd place that now go on to represent Sandbelt at the Area Contest on October 26th.
